In a sponsor-funded, 180-day randomised, double-blind, multi-centre study with no placebo arm — an active comparison against glucosamine-chondroitin rather than against nothing — 20 mg of Q-Actin® a day improved joint comfort, stiffness and function (WOMAC) by 70.3% against its own starting point, while the 2,700 mg glucosamine-chondroitin group improved 33.7% against theirs. 122 people, six months, p<0.05.

Three things we will say plainly about that study: it is a pooled multicentre pilot rather than a single registration study; its own abstract and results text do not agree on every number; and it dosed 10 mg twice daily, where VFlex gives you 20 mg once in the evening — the same daily total on a different schedule.

One of the 5 published human studies used Q-Actin® in gummy form: 56 adults randomised, 47 started: twelve weeks, double-blind against placebo, with manual dexterity measured directly by the Nine-Hole Peg Test (p = 0.011). Most ingredient evidence is generated on a raw powder and then sold inside a product that was never tested.

Glucosamine is manufactured by grinding shrimp, crab and lobster shells. Q-Actin® is cucumber: no shellfish, no marine contaminants, no animal gelatin — the gummy is set with fruit pectin.†
