"In a 180-day randomized double-blind trial, 20 mg Q-Actin® reduced WOMAC joint scores by 70.3% — compared with 33.7% for 2,700 mg glucosamine-chondroitin (Nash et al., 2018, Clinical Interventions in Aging, PMC6207263). Individual results may vary."

Mechanism research: idoBR1 has been studied in cell-based assays for its role in inflammatory pathway modulation (Nash et al., 2015 and 2020 — PhytoQuest publications). This research is at the in vitro tier.

MitoV+ Cellular Energy Gummies

MitoPrime® L-Ergothioneine

What it does: MitoPrime® is 98%+ pure L-ergothioneine — an amino acid your body actively conserves through a dedicated transporter (OCTN1). Ergothioneine has been proposed as a putative longevity vitamin candidate by Bruce Ames (PNAS, 2018) — a hypothesis paper, not an established conclusion.

"Ergothioneine functions as an antioxidant in cellular environments where common antioxidants (like glutathione) are less stable. Its uptake is mediated by a dedicated transporter (OCTN1), suggesting the body actively conserves it (multiple sources, 1990–2017 in vitro and pharmacokinetic research)."

Research summary:

  • Ames (2018, PNAS) — Proposed "putative longevity vitamins" hypothesis. Ergothioneine on the candidate list. We always include the "putative" qualifier.
  • NNB-001 C. elegans Lifespan Study (2021) — InVivo Biosystems (Eugene, OR), Lead Scientist Dr. Adam Saunders. Animal-model lifespan and healthspan evaluation.
  • Effect on plasma glutathione in healthy humans — NNB-sponsored human study (manufacturer technical dossier)
  • Distribution and accumulation in mouse tissues (2017) — Dietary ergothioneine accumulates in tissues with high oxidative load

What we don't claim: MitoV+ does not extend human lifespan in any controlled study. We do not claim cardiovascular outcome benefits — the Smith 2020 Malmö observation is association-only and supplementation has not been tested for that endpoint in an RCT. The "30× more potent than glutathione" framing in some marketing does not correspond to a single peer-reviewed study at that ratio; we don't use it.

How VyVa uses it: Locked formula FOR.25.186.01 (08 August 2025). Manufactured in France (EC&P, EU 1223/2009). PhytoCellTec at 0.10%; salmon-derived DNA at 0.15% in finished serum. The serum delivers these actives at the concentrations described in the locked QQ+INCI documentation.

What we don't claim: We do not claim DNA repair, regeneration, fibroblast stimulation, or any drug-tier benefit. We do not transfer supplier in vitro percentages (24% thickness, 80% cell longevity) to claims for our finished serum — those research figures were conducted at higher concentrations than our finished formula. PhytoCellTec is a plant cell extract, not human stem cells.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these studies conducted on VyVa products specifically?

Most published research on our actives was conducted by the ingredient suppliers or independent researchers on the active ingredient itself, at the supplier's studied concentration. Each finished VyVa product is independently batch-tested for purity, potency, and contaminants by FARE Labs. We are transparent about the difference between supplier ingredient research and finished-product testing in every claim we make.

What does "Self-Affirmed GRAS" mean?

Self-Affirmed GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) is a regulatory pathway under FDA. The ingredient supplier conducts a safety assessment using qualified experts and concludes that the ingredient is safe for its intended use under the conditions of use. It is not the same as FDA-approval; FDA does not approve dietary supplement ingredients. The supplier's GRAS conclusion is on file and can be requested.

How can I access the original research papers?

Each "Read the full science" page links directly to the source paper on PubMed Central, PubMed, or the publisher's website. Many of our supplier reports (Sunny Biodiscovery, Mibelle Biochemistry technical literature) are manufacturer documents available on request — email science@vyva.global.

Why don't VyVa products make stronger health claims?

Dietary supplements in the US may make structure/function claims — describing how an ingredient supports normal body structure or function. We may not claim our products diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. We take that distinction seriously. Where research describes interesting findings that approach drug-claim territory, we keep that detail on this science page only — not in our advertising or product page hero copy.
